WTA Miami - Venus Williams (USA) vs Iveta Benesova (CZE)

I truly believe this will be a blowout, especially because Benesova has basically nothing to hurt Venus. The American player looks to be the better player in the world right now and she has won the last two tournaments she has entered, in Dubai and Acapulco. She struggled a little bit in the previous round, but Radwanska played well and Venus had a big choke, as she should have won the match by 4:6 6:1 6:1. The truth is that Venus is playing very well and she keeps blowing out her opponents left and right. She hasn't blown out anybody in this tournament, because she hasn't faced a weak player this week. Peer and Groenefeld are former Top 20 players and Radwanska is the number 11 of the world. Her game continues to be at a high level, especially her serve continues to be a big weapon, as she served 11 aces in her last match.

Now Venus will face Benesova, a player she has easily defeated in the two times she has faced the Czech player by 6:3 6:2 and 6:1 6:4. Benesova is having a brilliant run this week, but she wasn't even close to have faced a top player like Venus. She began her run with a win against Lisicki, a player who served 11 double faults during the match and didn't play at her real level. Then, Benesova faced Dulko and Medina Garrigues in the following rounds, two defensive soft hitters, who allowed the Czech player to construct the points like she wanted. Now against Venus, Benesova won't be so lucky and she will be forced to run miles in the baseline, as she will obviously be overpowered by Venus in the baseline rallies. Benesova has already faced Venus' sister Serena this season and she also lost by 6:1 6:4. Also note that she lost by 6:3 6:1 against Kvitova in Indian Wells, a player who also overpowered her on the baseline. Venus doesn't use to get soft against weaker opposition and what we are going to see in here is a blowout. A 6:4 6:2 type of result will be enough for her to cover the handicap and that's what I expect her to do in here. Take Venus minus the games.

Pick: 1 unit (Regular Play) on Venus Williams (-5,5 Games) @1.83 on WillHill
